explanation of results.

From my experiment, it is shown that the plant wrapped in red cellophane grew the tallest reaching 11.5cm. The one that grew the second tallest was the orange one which was 6.5cm. This was followed Yellow, 6cm, Green, 5.5cm and then Purple, 4cm. From the results, you can see a trend occuring. The colour red which have the longest wavelength allowed the plant to grow the tallest. The orange wavelength which is longer than the yellow but shorter than the red made the plant grow second tallest. And the colour with the shortest wavelength, purple, grew the least out of all the plants.

So it is seen that from my experiment, colour which all contain different wavelengths do affect plant growth. Plants grow taller under colours with longer wavelengths rather than colours with shorter wavelengths. In this case, the pot with the red cellophane wrapped around it grew the tallest as it grew under the influence of red light which has the longest wavelength. The growth rate can also be caused by the plant's absorption of light because plants only absorb blue and red light.
