So, i have decided to do ''How does the wavelength of light affect plant growth.'' (but if this experiment goes whacky for some reason i'm going to do ''the effect of different types of tea on plant growth'' as mentioned in my previous posts.) i don't think this experiment will take very long probably a few weeks and it doesn't require any specific scientific equipment. just basic stuff you'd find at home (;
Let's get to it then. I'm planning to do this experiment by:
1. Get a few pots filled with soil and putting seeds in them.
2. Wrap the pots with different coloured cellophane, one for each pot.
3. Poke holes in each of the cellophane sheets to allow oxygen for the plant to grow.
4. Leave the plants in the sun and water them.
5. Measure plant growth of each plant in the pot after a few weeks.
variables:
controlled: same type of seedlings used, same soil, same amount of water poured in every day, same place the pots will be stored, wavelength of light that is allowed in
independent: what the weather will be like each day and how much sunlight will there be
dependent: growth of the plant
annnd, yeahh. is it good so far? D:
now its time to print screen - say cheese!~

Danna, I'm worried about your understanding of variables. Your variables are not what youa re actually looking at and what your experimental design says. Remember that variables are just another way of saying a "cause and effect" relationship. You change the cause, and there will be a following effect.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, your prac idea is looking good!
